Care About It!

Toby Wells Blue Apple Ranch (BAR) is a 277 acre facility in the western foothills of Ramona, designed as a community resource for youth and horses. Unlike dogs and cats, at-risk horses frequently have few alternatives and are many times destined for neglect and even slaughter. Horses arriving at BAR are assessed once healthy and settled, and if practical, enter the training program to determine if they could possibly prepare for a new career. Those requiring a sanctuary setting enter the Care About It! sanctuary program and are guaranteed a safe home at BAR for the rest of their lives. The four legged residents are grateful for their second lease on life and enjoy interaction with many of the young visitors. Toby Wells Blue Apple Ranch is an accredited facility by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) and has been honored with their coveted “Standards of Excellence” award.
